Looking for some calmness.
“…men incessantly create themselves an umbrella that protects them, in whose lower part they trace a firmament and write their conventions, their opinions; but the poet, the artist makes a cut in the umbrella, rips the firmament itself, to give entrance to a bit of the free and windy chaos and to frame in sudden light a vision that emerges through the tear…”

In this fragment, ‘From chaos to the brain’, I find that we always think in a formal visual order, reassuring.
Now -in this body of works- I look for that tear that allows the entrance of that sudden light.
Knowing the concepts of art, the topics, the implicit, the finished, I insist on the sketched, that seems unfinished, that animates a fragment of something bigger. I persist in the irruption of the plane, generating an intuitive balance, not measured, the crash against the edges, as coming out or coming into it.
The development of each work is different and unique on each image, dictating step by step the course of what is coming, encouraging the game, fighting against that fortunate finding that takes everything for granted.
Or looking for some calmness.
Body of 7 works made between 2018/2019 executed on MDF in similar sizes, using the collage technique with different qualities of paper and acrylic paint.
